For independents

Your life prepared you
for a brief that doesn't
know your name yet.

Somewhere on Wildmind, there is a brief that needs exactly where you are, what language you speak, who you know, and what you can reach. It does not know your name yet. But when it finds you, it will be the most specific match of your life.

Make it. Get funded. Get credited. No ongoing relationship required.

Who this is for

No approved list. No required credentials.
Anyone who can deliver real work.

Wildmind does not judge by your identity, your background, your experience, or your network. It matches by your profile — who you are, where you are, what you can reach, what you have made.

Elissa

Mother of three. Lives in Ankara. No agency background. No portfolio that would pass a standard brief.

Name Mercedes' new series.

Her first language carries a rhythm that no translation catches. Her perspective on naming is unlike any that exists in an agency roster.

A retired teacher

62 years old. Has been photographing the same valley for 30 years. Not a professional photographer by any standard classification.

Take the LIFE magazine cover shot.

He has been in that valley every season for three decades. No one alive has seen it the way he has.

An 18-year-old

No agency. No credits. Writing since age twelve. Applied in 500 characters — by hand.

Write the tagline of the next unicorn startup.

The brief needed someone who had grown up in a language that thinks differently about the future. That was exactly what they were.

In Wildmind, every brief is unique to a maker whose specific life makes them irreplaceable for it — their location, mother tongue, cultural perspective, field access, tools, and the people they know. There is no standard profile of a Wildmind independent. There is only the match between a brief and a life.

Your profile

Your profile is your pitch.
Texture beats credentials.

In Wildmind, a rich profile is how you get found. Not a CV. Not a portfolio with impressive names. The texture of your life — where you are, what language you think in, who you know, what you can reach, what you have completed — is what the matching engine reads against every published brief.

A brief is published, and Wildmind reads your profile against it. The better your profile, the better your match score, the more likely you are to be surfaced to a brand that needs exactly you.

The pitch you write when you apply is 500 characters — by hand. No copy-paste. No AI. No uploads. Because what you say about a specific brief, in 500 characters, when you genuinely want to make it, tells everything a portfolio cannot.

What your profile holds

Location

Where you are — precisely. What access your geography gives you. What you can reach that someone in London or New York cannot.

Languages

Your mother tongue. Other languages you work in. The cultural registers you carry without thinking about them.

Completed briefs

Every brief you have completed. Every deadline you kept — or missed. The accountability record is permanent and public.

Field access

Communities, places, networks, and institutions you have genuine access to. Who you know, and what they give you access to.

Tools & software

What you work with. Relevant to technical briefs. Claimed during onboarding via Wildmind software credits.

Your brief history

Briefs you have created, not just completed. A brief creator credit is permanent — even if someone else makes the work.

Brief creator credit

You see something the world needs made. Write the brief.

Independents can create briefs too. You define what needs to exist — the project, the vision, the deliverables. You publish it on Wildmind. A brand finds it and takes the Producer seat. You are credited as brief creator permanently — regardless of who funds it, who makes it, or what changes are agreed.

Example brief record

Urban Mythologies

Brief creator — Marcus Adeyemi · Produced by [Brand] · Made by Marcus Adeyemi

Brief creator credit is permanent — cannot be removed or changed
You retain your credit even if the producer suggests customisations
Your brief can fund your own maker team, or a producer may select a different maker
Community supporters who back your brief are credited alongside you

What to expect as maker

Real work. Real support.
Real deadlines.

Wildmind V1 works with solo makers. You are matched to a brief that fits your life. You pitch in 500 characters. If selected, you confirm the deliverables and the deadline — and that confirmation is binding.

Deadlines are real. A missed deadline is recorded permanently on your profile. Revisions are limited — defined in the brief. Deliverables are approved by the producer before the brief closes.

When the brief is complete and signed by both sides, it is locked. Your credit is in the record forever. No ongoing relationship with the brand is expected or required.
